Proposed Temporary Closureof
R120 Newcastle Road, Lucan, Co. Dublin
To facilitate Lucan Harriers to hold a 5 Mile Race, South Dublin County Council propose to temporarily close the following road:
Road Name: Section ofR120 Newcastle Road, Co. Dublin (south of the roundabout at Supervalu to the junction of Castlegate Way).
Date: Sunday 7th September 2025
Time of Closure: 9:50 AM to 11:30 AM
Detour Route: Both Castlegate Way and Adamstown Avenue will be open in one direction. Traffic from the estates will be able to turn left and loop around.
Diversion Route 1 - From N4 onto the R120, left onto Esker Drive via Esker Cottages/ Old Esker Lane.
Diversion Route 2 - From the R136 Outer Ring Road right onto the New Nangor Road R134 and right onto the R120 Newcastle Road.
Diversion Route 3 - Traffic will be diverted to Adamstown Avenue onto the R136 Outer Ring Road.
- Local access to be maintained at all times
- 24hr emergency access to be maintained at all times
Any person interested may lodge an observation/submission in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Land Use, Planning and Transportation, South Dublin County Council, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24 or by email to seoroads@sdublincoco.ie not later than 5.00 p.m. on Monday 25th August, 2025.
