Proposed Temporary Closure of Loughtown Rd/Hazelhatch Rd., Newcastle,

 

County Dublin

 

To facilitate Niaron Ltd. on behalf of ESB Networks, to carry out a system upgrade involving new trenching, ducting and cablejoining works, South Dublin County Council propose to temporarily close a section of the following road:

           

Road Name:                           Loughtown Road (from Loughtown Rd./Hazelhatch Rd R405 junction to                                                             Loughtown Rd/R120 Road junction).

 

From:                                      Monday 18th August 2025

 

To:                                          Friday 29th August 2025

           

Time of Closure:                   24hrs  

 

Detour route:                         Loughtown Rd will be closed end to end. All traffic travelling along the R120                                                      to Loughtown Road will be diverted into Newcastle Village. Then go west                                                          before turning right onto the R405, continue on the                                                                                              R405/Loughtown junction.

 

                                               Traffic on the R405 will be diverted into Newcastle Village, turning east before                                                  turning left onto Peamount Rd. and the R120 until meeting the end of the                                                        diversion at the Loughtown R120 junction.                                                    

 

 

  • Local access to be maintained at all times.

  • 24 hr emergency access to be maintained.

 

 

Any person interested may lodge an observation/submission in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Land Use, Planning and Transportation, South Dublin County Council, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24 or by email to seoroads@sdublincoco.ie no later than 5.00 p.m. on 11th August 2025.
