NOTICE TO BE PUBLISHED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 51 OF THE ROADS ACT, 1993, AS AMENDED BY THE ROADS (AMENDMENT) ACT 1998 (AS AMENDED BY THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ACTS, 2000-2002) IN RELATION TO AN APPLICATION FOR THE APPROVAL OF A PROPOSED ROAD DEVELOPMENT AND THE PREPARATION OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
OUTER RING ROAD PHASE 3: PROPOSED N7-N81: ROAD DEVELOPMENT, 2005

South Dublin County Council has prepared an Environmental Impact Statement in respect of the Outer Ring Road Phase 3: Proposed N7- N81: Road Development as
illustrated, from A to B. The extent of the scheme is approximately 4 kilometres in length.

South Dublin County Council has applied to An Bord Pleanála for approval of the proposed road development under section 51 of the Roads Act, 1993 as amended by the Roads (Amendment) Act 1998 (as amended by the Planning and Development Acts, 2000-2002).
The specific scheme objectives are as follows:
• A new single carriageway road link plus Bus and Cycle lanes between the Outer Ring Road N7 Kingswood Interchange and the Cheeverstown Road;
• Upgrading of the existing single carriageway link plus Bus Cycle lanes along the Cheeverstown Road and Cookstown Road to the N81;
• Existing priority junctions at Brookfield Road, Fettercairn Road, Cookstown Before making its decision on the application for approval, the Board must consider the Environmental Impact Statement, any written submissions made to it and not withdrawn and, where an oral hearing is held, the report and any recommendations of the inspector holding the oral hearing where evidence was given in relation to the likely effects on the environment of the proposal. Road and Fortunestown Way to be changed to Traffic Signal Controlled Junctions;
• A new roundabout to be constructed South of the Kingswood Interchange to facilitate access to the Roadstone Quarry

A copy of the Environmental Impact Statement may be inspected at: -
• South Dublin County Council Offices, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24 between the hours of 9:00 am -5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am-4.30pm Friday
• Civic Offices, Ninth Lock Road, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 between the hours of 9.00am-12.45pm and 2.00pm-4.00pm Monday to Friday
• County Library, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24 between the hours of 9.45am- 8.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.45am - 4.30pm Friday and Saturday, From Wednesday June 22nd 2005 until Friday July 22nd 2005.

A copy of the Environmental Impact Statement may be purchased for a fee of €50.00 from County Hall, Tallaght and Civic Offices, Clondalkin. A copy of the non-technical summary may also be purchased for a fee of €2.00 at the two above locations. Alternatively, the Environmental Impact Statement is available on CD-Rom and may be purchased from the two above locations for a fee of  €15.00.

Written submissions in relation to the likely effects on the environment of the proposed road development may be made to An Bord Pleanála, 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1, up to close of business on Friday 5th August, 2005.
Public notice of any Oral Hearing will be given at a later date.
