Public Notice of

Proposed Traffic Calming Measures in the Beechfield/Cherryfield Residential Cell

(Cell bounded by Cromwellsfort Road, Whitehall Road West, Greentrees Road and St. Peters Road)

Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given of the proposed provision by South Dublin County Council of the above scheme and a description of the proposed works follows:

The proposed works consist of the following:

1) The construction of a cul de sac at the junction of St Peters Crescent and Limekiln Lane

2) Installation of bollards in the following laneways to prevent vehicular access:

        a) Between 55-57 St Peters Road (St Peters Road end)

        b) Rear of 107 St Peters Road and 101 Cherryfield Road

        c) 141 Cherryfield Road and No. 2 Cherryfield Drive (Cherryfield Drive end)

        d) Rear of 72 St Peters Crescent (junction with St Pauls Drive)

3) The construction of traffic islands at the following junctions:

         a) On Beechfield Avenue at its junction with Beechfield Road

         b) On Cherry Grove at its junction with Cromwellsfort Road

         c) On Cherry Grove at its junction with Beechfield Road

         d) On Cherryfield Road at its junction with Beechfield Road

         e) On Cherryfield Avenue at its junction with Beechfield Road

4) The provision of Double yellow lines on Beechfield Road in the vicinity of tennis /sports

     grounds

5) The construction of 2 No. Bus Cushions on Millgate Road

6) The construction of 29(twenty-nine) standard traffic calming ramps and

7) Associated Road Signage

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection at:

(a)      South Dublin County Council Offices, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24.

           from 9.00am– 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and from 9.00am -4.30pm each Friday.

(a)               County Library, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24.

From  9.45am- 8.00pm Monday to Thursday and from 9.45am – 4.30pm Friday and Saturday.

From Thursday 12^th May 2005 to Friday 10^th June 2005

Written submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development would be situated may be made in writing before 4.30pm on Friday 24^th June 2005 to The Senior Executive Officer, Roads and Traffic Department, South Dublin County Council, County Hall, Town Centre, Tallaght, Dublin 24.
