PART 8 PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS 2001
PUBLIC NOTICE OF EMBANKMENT ROAD EXTENSION – CITY WEST TO BELGARD ROAD.

Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given of the provision by South Dublin County Council of the above scheme and a description of the Works follows:

1. Construction of approximately 370 metres of 9 metre wide carriageway between City West and the proposed Outer Ring Road – Phase 3.
2. Construction of approximately 2250 metres of 13 metre wide carriageway between the proposed Outer Ring Road Phase 3 and the Old Belgard Road to include bus lanes in both directions.
3. Provision of additional carriageway lanes between the Old Belgard Road and Belgard Road.
4. Extension in length of existing left turn lane on Embankment Road (westbound at its junction with Belgard Road).
5. Reconfiguration of road layout in the vicinity of Belgard Road, Old Belgard Road and Cookstown Estate Road.
6. Relocation of entrance and entrance road to sports facility located between Belgard Road and Old Belgard Road (north of Embankment Road).
7. Construction of approximately 100 metres of 7.5 metre wide carriageway linking Fettercairn Road to the proposed Embankment Road Extension.
8. Local realignment of Cookstown Road in the vicinity of its junction with the proposed Embankment Road Extension.
9. Realignment of junction of Cookstown Road and Fettercairn Road at St. Marks S.C and forming of cul-de-sac on Cookstown Road north of junction.
10. Construction of cycletracks and footpaths.
11. Installation of signal control at the junctions of Belgard Road / Cookstown Estate Road and Cookstown Road / proposed Embankment Road Extension.
12. Installation of new (replacement) signal control at the junction of Embankment Road with both Belgard Road and Old Belgard Road.
13. Provision of drainage and associated features.
14. Provision of public lighting, road markings and signage.

Details of the proposed scheme will be on display at:

a) South Dublin County Council Offices, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24. From 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am – 4.30pm on Friday.
b) South Dublin County Council, County Library, Tallaght, Dublin 24. From 9.45am – 8.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.45am – 4.30pm Friday and Saturday.
c) Clondalkin Civic Offices, Civic Centre, Clondalkin, Dublin 22. From 9.45am – 8.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.45am – 4.30pm Friday and Saturday.

From Thursday 14th July 2005 until Thursday 11th August 2005.

Written submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development would be situated, may be made in writing before 4.30pm on Thursday 8th September 2005 to
