Public Notice of

 

PROPOSED NANGOR ROAD IMPROVEMENT SCHEME

 

Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given of the proposal to improve the Nangor Road as described below:

 

1.       The construction of approximately 2.03 km of a two-way single carriageway road;

2.       For 1.7 km of the proposed improvement incorporating the Nangor Road and the R120 Regional Road the cross section consists of a 9.0 m carriageway, 2 No. 2.0 metre wide grass verges, 2 No. 1.8 metre wide footpaths and 2 No. 1.5 metre wide cycle paths;

3.       For the remaining 0.33 km of the proposed improvement on the Baldonnel Road the cross section consists of a 7.0 m carriageway with a 2 metre wide grass verge and a 1.8 metre wide footpath;

4.       The construction of two signal controlled junctions, where the Nangor Road meets the Baldonnel Road and the R120 Regional Road;

5.       The provision of safety barriers where necessary;

6.       The construction of associated drainage and culverts;

7.       The provision of associated road markings, traffic signage and public lighting;

8.       The installation of ducting for statutory service relocations and the diversion of existing statutory services that are affected by the works;

9.       The construction of boundary walls, fencing and access treatments;

10.   Associated earthworks and appropriate landscape works.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection at:

 

a)      South Dublin County Council Offices, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24

between the hours of 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am – 4.30pm on Friday,

 

b)       County Library, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24 between the hours of 9.45am – 8.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.45am – 4.30pm Friday and Saturday,

 

c)       South Dublin County Council Civic Offices, Ninth Lock Road, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 between the hours of 10.00am – 12.45pm and 2.00pm – 4.00pm Monday to Friday,

 

d)       Lucan Library, Superquinn Shopping Centre, Newcastle Road, Lucan, Co. Dublin between the hours of 9.45am – 8.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.45am – 4.30pm on Friday and Saturday.

 

From Thursday 28th October – Monday 29th November 2004

 

Written submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development would be situated, may be made in writing before 4.30pm on Monday 13th December 2004 to The Senior Executive Officer, Roads and Traffic Department, South Dublin County Council, County Hall, Town Centre Tallaght, Dublin 24.
