South Dublin County Council has prepared a Draft Development Plan for the period

2004 - 2010. This will replace the current Development Plan, which was adopted in

1998.

The Council is holding a series of Open Days around the County during January and

February. The purpose of these Open Days is to assist people in understanding the

contents of the Draft Plan, the procedures involved in making a Development Plan and

to encourage as many people as possible to make written submissions expressing their

views. The Open Days will also give people an opportunity to discuss aspects of the

Draft Plan with Planning Department staff.

The venues, dates and times for the Open Days are as follows:

Thursday 29th January Clondalkin Civic Offices, Clondalkin. 1pm – 9pm

Monday 2nd February Tallaght Public Library, Town Centre, Tallaght 1pm – 9pm

Tuesday 3rd February Court of Petty Sessions, Main Street, Rathcoole. 1pm – 9pm

Thursday 5th February Lucan Library, Superquinn Shopping Centre, 1pm – 9pm

Newcastle Road, Lucan

Monday 9th February St Finian’s Community Hall, Newcastle. 1pm – 9pm

Tuesday 10th February St Lorcan’s Boys National School, Palmerstown. 1pm – 9pm

Translation and signing facilities will be available at certain times at some of the Open

Days and information is available on request in a variety of formats including braille,

large print, disc and CD. Additional meetings will also be held with target groups

including young people, disabled people, Travellers and ethnic minority groups.

The Draft Development Plan 2004 - 2010 may also be inspected during opening hours

at the Council Offices in Tallaght and Clondalkin and in the Council’s Libraries at

Tallaght, Ballyroan, Castletymon, Whitechurch, Clondalkin and Lucan until Wednesday

25th February 2004.

Written submissions or observations regarding the Draft Development Plan must be

received by 25th February 2004 (5.00 pm). Further details regarding postal and e-mail

addresses, etc. are available on the Council’s website www.southdublin.ie and from the

Council’s offices and libraries.
