Mayor Therese Ridge will launch the official programme of events for South Dublin County’s Seachtain na Gaeilge in County Hall Tallaght on Friday 3rd March at 7 pm. The launch party will feature the internationally acclaimed Sean Nos singer,Lasairfhiona Ni Chonaola who has recently been nominated in the Best Folk/Trad. category of the Meteor awards for 2006.
The launch of Seachtain na Gaeilge is a celebration of the Irish Language and Culture and it is hoped that many representative groups as well as individuals within our county will be able to attend this gala evening.
Tickets are available at €10 from County Hall Tallaght or by phoning the booking line 01/4149289 or 4597959.Bookings will be on a first-come, first-served basis as spaces may be limited.
South Dublin County will be celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge this year with over 60 events taking place throughout the county. The Irish Language and our Culture can be sampled at the fantastic wide range of events taking place during Seachtain na Gaeilge this year, including concerts, classes, workshops, coffee morning, seisiúin cheoil agus craic. South Dublin County is a beautiful lively County, where there is a great interest in the Irish Language and our Culture. South Dublin County possesses one of the biggest Irish speaking populations outside of the Gaeltacht.
You will be welcome and have a chance to practice speaking Irish and enjoy our wonderful culture during Seachtain na Gaeilge in South Dublin County this year.

Os Cionn 60 Imeacht ar fud an Chontae Átha Cliath Theas
Beidh Contae Átha Cliath Theas ag ceiliúradh Seachtain na Gaeilge i mbliana le os cionn 60 imeachtaí ar fud an Chontae. Is léir on gclár leathan go mbeidh an Ghaeilge agus ár gcultúir le bhlaiseadh le linn na ceolchoirmeacha, ranganna, ceardlanna, maidin chaife, seisiúin cheoil agus craic a bhéas ar fáil ag ceiliúradh Seachtain na Gaeilge i mbliana. Contae álainn agus bríomhar is ea Contae Átha Cliath Theas ina bhfuil an-spéis sa Ghaeilge agus sa Chultúr ann. Tá ceann de na pobal labhartha na Gaeilge is mó taobh amuigh den Ghaeltacht le fáil i gContae Átha Cliath Theas.
Beidh Fáilte romhat agus beidh seans agat do Ghaeilge a chleachtadh agus taitneamh a bhaint as ár gcultúr álainn i gConate Átha Cliath Theas le linn Seachtain na Gaeilge 2006.
