Plastic Recycling added to Wellington Lane Bring Banks

A container for recycling of plastic bottles has been added to the bring banks at Tymon Park Car Park,

Wellington Lane
, Templeogue.

The bring banks, which already provide facilities for the recycling of green, brown and clear glass, are situated inside the gate to Tymon Park.

A Council spokesman said: “More than 225 tonnes of plastic bottles were recycled in the South Dublin County area up to the end of October 2005.  This equates to  4.5 million plastic bottles which were diverted from landfill by members of the public.”

The Council is asking visitors to the plastic bring bank to crush bottles as much as possible before depositing them and to remove and dispose of lids in their household grey bin.

Please don’t leave bags or boxes at the bring bank.  This could result in a fine or prosecution for littering.

A list of recycling facilities for plastic and for other materials is available on www.southdublin.ie and also on www.dublinwaste.ie.
