Councillor Therese Ridge Mayor of South Dublin County

will launch the South West Clondalkin Community Safety Forum on Tuesday the 15th November at 5.00pm in

ARAS CHRONAN Watery Lane
, Clondalkin.

The Community Safety Forum is a Dolcain Project initiative funded by the Dept. of The Environment through South Dublin County Council.

The idea for the forum originated with The Drugs Task Force who supported a pilot project in North Clondalkin in 1999. The Dolcain Project received funding in 2002 to develop the Forum in South West Clondalkin . The forum itself is made up of residents groups, community groups, representatives from service providers including, South Dublin County Council, An Garda Siochana, Health Service Executive and local elected representatives.

The Forum meets six weekly to discuss issues that the community element of the forum has raised.  The forum aims to work in a collaborative way to identify solutions to issues of community safety and the environment.

The Dolcain Project has documented the setting up and work to date of the Community Safety forum which will be available at the Launch. To date the Forum has worked on issues such as the Bus Service in South West Clondalkin, The upkeep of Estates and Green areas locally, the upkeep and maintenance of local Parks and the issue of anti-social behaviour
