Deputy Mayor Karen Warren presents horticultural certificates to students in Fettercairn

Deputy Mayor Karen Warren will present Horticultural Certificates to the young adults from Jobstown who participated in a Horticultural Course for a period of 10 weeks in St. Marks Youth and Family Centre in Fettercairn on Friday the 9th September at 6pm.
Throughout the course the students learned to grow a wide range of plants in the glass house, constructed hanging baskets, wall bags, window boxes and they went on a field trip to the Botanic Gardens to learn about exotic plants.
Funding was secured for the project by the combined efforts of the Estate Management Section and Tallaght Youth Services from the Community Linkage Funding, South Dublin County Council which is used to address local community needs and enhance the quality of life for people living in the area.
In August the plants and shrubs of their labour were planted in the Cloonmore Estate in a garden dedicated to the local young children from the area who have died tragically.
