IBAL survey August 2005
Improvements all round For Tallaght and Lucan in the latest IBAL litter survey.
The Summer IBAL survey shows litter levels continue to fall “30% cleaner as a nation than 10 years ago” This is also the case in the South Dublin County Council areas included in the survey – Tallaght and Lucan.
In Tallaght there has been an improvement in the litter situation with five excellent sites recorded. Westpark which scored poorly in the past got special mention as the litter had reduced considerably. Five of the 10 sites surveyed were Clean to European Norms.
Lucan also showed big improvements since the last survey with no litter blackspots this time.
The activity of local residents and Council staff has yielded positive results in achieving a better place for everyone.
The Beautiful South Dublin County/Átha Cliath Theas go Deas competition launched this year by South Dublin County Council will also demonstrate the best in the County in terms of a better and cleaner place. The results of this competition will be released in October.
South Dublin County Council will continue to work with the residents of the County by continuing to provide services to improve the appearance of the County.
These services include road sweeping, handcart personnel in villages and a regular cleansing service. The Parks Department will continue to work in parks and open spaces, planting trees and flowers.
