The Celtic Tenors at Ballyroan Library

On Monday 7th March, the Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Councillor Robert Dowds will launch Seachtain na Gaelige and Library Ireland Week with very special guests, the Celtic Tenors. Ballyroan Library is delighted to host an informal evening of music and conversation with the Celtic Tenors who have generously given of their time in an extremely busy touring year for them.

The Celtic Tenors, Niall Morris, James Nelson and Matthew Gilsenan are spending most of 2005 touring in the United States and Europe, where they will visit Lithuania and Belgium for the first time. Immediately after their evening at Ballyroan Library, they start a major U.S.tour.

The Celtic Tenors have released many top selling albums and have recorded with, among others, Samantha Mumba and Brian Kennedy. Their total album sales, including compilations, are now over one million and they are the most successful Irish classical artists.

The Celtic Tenors have performed for former U.S president, Bill Clinton and, more recently during a trip to Ireland, in a private audience for the Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan.

The Celtic Tenors will be accompanied by their musical director, David Munro, a Glaswegian with an international reputation as arranger, pianist and record producer to the stars.
