TALLAGHT SWIMMING POOL – SIGNING OF CONTRACT
Friday February 26th in County Hall Tallaght.
South Dublin County Council today signed the contract with Rohcon Ltd for the development of
Tallaght Swimming Pool and Sports Hall. The complex will be located at Jobstown Park, West
Tallaght. It will include: -
A 25 metre 8 lane Swimming Pool
A State of the Art Sports Hall
Changing Rooms for Football Clubs using the Park
A Café
A dedicated Gymnasium area
Speaking at the signing of the contract, the Mayor, Robert Dowds said it was an historic day for Tallaght and the surrounding area especially for people interested in sport. He said that the people of Tallaght had campaigned for many years for such a facility and their dream was now becoming a reality. He also said that the project would add another important part to the existing community infrastructure of Tallaght which would benefit young and old alike.
The contract period is for 70 weeks and it is expected that the contractor will commence work in the coming weeks.
