The Mayor and Members of South Dublin County Council cordially invite you to the launch of an exhibition of drawings, paintings and mixed media pieces entitled ‘Celtic Dreams’ on Wednesday 16th June 2004 at 8.15 pm
Lucan Library is delighted to exhibit the new collection of drawings, paintings and mix media pieces by local artist / textile designer Teresa O’Neill, entitled “Celtic Dreamsâ€.
Teresa previously held a solo exhibition here in March 2003. The exhibition was a major success and gained immense interest and publication.
Teresa O’Neill graduated from National College of Art & Design, Dublin in 2000.
Whilst in her final year at NCAD she won a prestigious award in an international student design competition, having designed an innovative new product for cars.
She was the first Irish person to win such an award.
The award gave her the opportunity to work in the UK with automotive textile company “Viktor Achter Ltd†where she developed and researched her interest in surface design and product development.
Now furthering her career in Dublin, Teresa works as a full time artist / designer in her studio, and also teaches drawing and painting part-time to adults and children at various venues, including a very popular class for children at Lucan Library.
The coast of Cornwall is a second home for Teresa where she gathers inspiration and also exhibits her work.
Teresa paints mostly in acrylics, but you will find that many of her pieces are in mix media, with a lot of surface texture. The texture of her paintings and the imagery reflects her textile background. Her solo exhibition at Lucan Library features over 25 pieces of work to include flowers, landscapes and abstract compositions.
