Mayor Maire Ardagh presents prizes at the Annual cross country races at Tymon Park Tallaght.
Last Saturday 10th January 2004 was an auspicious occasion in the life of South Dublin County Council Athletic Club when the 25th running of their annual cross country races took place in Tymon Park, Tallaght.
The event also coincided with the 10-year celebrations of South Dublin County Council as an organisation. These races are organised as part of the Business Houses Athletic Association in order to promote competition between businesses and encourage a healthier life style.
South Dublin County Council Athletic Club has maintained a close relationship with both Tymon Park as a venue for the races and St. Jude’s G.A.A. Club as a venue for registration, changing and the prize giving ceremony.
Mayor Maire Ardagh and Manager Joe Horan attended the prize giving ceremony. A special presentation was made to Tom Curran one of the organisers of the event to mark his association with all 25 events. A big thank you is extended to all the people who year after year give up their Saturday to help make this event the great event it has become.
