Mayor Councillor Maire Ardagh to host the Launch of The Disability Handbook for Local Community Projects and Groups.
3.00pm Friday 12th December ,County Library ,Tallaght.
The Local group Disability Equality Steering Committee (DESC) announce the launch of their disability handbook ‘On the Right Track’ this week.
The aim of the handbook is to highlight the importance of including local disabled people in community projects and groups in Tallaght and Clondalkin.
DESC hope that their handbook gives local groups the confidence to go out into their communities and encourage disabled people to become more involved in local issues and activities and actively target people with disabilities in their area.
Funding for ‘On the Right Track’ was received during the European Year of People with Disabilities 2003 which is now drawing to a close. DESC believe that it is important that the momentum built up around disability issues, over the year, is not lost.
Guest speakers will include Pat Rabbitte TD and Miss Rosaleen McDonagh well known traveller and disability activist
The Mayor and Members invite interested groups to participate in the lauch of the handbook to attend on Friday 12th of December in the Tallaght Library at 3pm. Wine reception will follow.
