The Mayor of South Dublin, Cllr. Maire Ardagh will launch an exhibition of art for “The St. Aengus Project, Tymon North†in Castletymon Library, Dublin 24 on Wednesday November 26th at 11.00am.
Don Baker, star of the film “In the name of the Father†and described by Bono as the world’s best harmonica player, will also be there to meet the artists.
Two artists, John Carpenter and Ben Custerson, train the art group and the exhibition will feature work carried out over the last six months by the group. The art group were the creators of the Special Olympic Mural, painted on the rear wall of the Library.
The St. Aengus Project offers Art classes, Drama, Computer training and Work and Education preparation. The Project is funded by FAS under the Community Employment Scheme and all of the trainees come from the Tallaght area.
This is the first public exhibition of the art group’s work, under the instruction of the combined artists.
