South Clondalkin Quality Bus Corridor Phase 3
Works associated with the South Clondalkin Quality Bus Corridor Phase 3 are ongoing in Clondalkin Village.
The works comprise :
Major Improvement works to the surface water drainage system,
Replacement of failed cobblelock road surface and
Widening of the road to improve safety
The nature of these works has necessitated the temporary closure of roads through the Village which understandably has caused inconvenience to road users and increased traffic volumes through adjacent areas. As the drainage works
required involve deep trenching to facilitate installation of underground drainage piping, the works cannot be carried out either at weekends or overnight.
The current closure (Main Street from its junction with Monastery Road/Orchard Lane to New Road) will remain in
place until 5th November 2003. Following that, the section of Main Street from New Road to Tower Road will be
closed from 7th November to 5th December 2003.
On completion of the South Clondalkin Quality Bus Corridor, an enhanced Quality Bus Network from Grange Castle
on the Nangor Road through Clondalkin Village and onto the Naas Road will be in place. The completion of this
network is a significant objective of the Dublin Transportation Office Platform for Change and it is envisaged that
this facility will be of great benefit to the residents/business community of Clondalkin.
Details of the road closures have been circulated to businesses and residents along the route of the works .
Whilst every effort is made to keep disruption to a minimum, the inconvenience being caused is regretted.
