Upcoming Events in the Libraries
Children’s Book Festival entitled ‘Off Your Trolley’ takes place from the 13th -24th October and includes 39 events for children. The launch will take place on 15th October in Ballyroan Library at 6.30pm with the Mayor and Roger McGough (all you oldies out there will remember the band The Scaffold with Roger and Mike McCartney, so all together now….. ‘Weeee’ll drink a drink a drink a drink to Lily the Pink, the pink, the pink… repeat ad nauseum…..). Everybody is very welcome to attend. Other highlights include Roddy Doyle reading in Tallaght Library on 21st October at 11am, the Armagh Rhymers interactive play ‘The Giant Turnip’ and various workshops, plays and storytime based on humour in children’s literature. Brochures will be available in the libraries from the end of September onwards and although many events are for school classes there will be several after school events which can be booked on a first-come-first-served basis.
