South Dublin County Council has announced proposals to build a Community and Youth Centre at Knockmitten, Clondalkin.  The move comes after sustained representations by local people and elected members for the area.  The Council has now arranged a funding package sufficient to build the centre.  The total cost will be in the region of  €800,000.

The Centre will measure approximately 468 square meters within a total curtilage area of

2,635 square meters.  Provision will be made for:

·         A courtyard entrance

·         A reception area

·         A meeting hall capable of being subdivided in three smaller rooms for meetings

·         A kitchen

·         A storeroom

·         Female and Male toilets

·         Two sports changing rooms with showers

·         A small office for administration

·         A café area

·         Associated car parking spaces.

The Council hopes to be in a position to commence construction in the Autumn.  For further information please contact Gerry Fitzgibbon at South Dublin County Council, County Hall, Tallaght, telephone 4149000 extension 2680.
