A new framework for public participation and engagement, The Public Participation Network, is being established in South Dublin.
An information meeting on the new Public Participation Network (PPN) will be held at the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel on the Naas Road on: Wednesday September 10th, 7.30pm - 9pm
The PPN will build on existing structures and will provide new opportunities for community groups and organisations to take a formal active role in the relevant policy making and oversight committees of South Dublin County Council, including the new Local Community Development Committee (LCDC). Registering with the PPN will be the only way for community groups and organisations in the County to nominate members to these committees. There is no charge for registering with the PPN.
At the information meeting details of the PPN structure, the new County Register, registration requirements, voting rights etc. will be outlined. Groups who wish to register with the PPN will be required to opt for one of three pillars: community, social inclusion or environmental; reflecting their main area of interest.
