St Peters BNS, Greenhills proudly raises their Green Schools Flag for Water conservation.

The Mayor Dermott Looney congratulated St Peters BNS on receiving their Green Schools Flag for water as part of the Green Schools Programme supported by South Dublin County Council and An Taisce.
The Mayor, a past pupil of St Peters said “I know the great tradition of commitment to the environment at St Peters” .
St Peters managed to reduce the amount of water being used, by 2 liters per person per day. This year they were also the recipients of the Regional and National award for the best application in the Green Schools Programme on water, an award sponsored by Irish Water.
The Mayor continued “ I want to congratulate Principal Mary Johnson, Deputy Principal Brian Redmond, the green schools coordinator Jennifer Brennan, the green schools committee, made up of students in the school and all the staff and pupils in the school who have worked so hard for this achievement.”
The Green Schools programme is an International programme with over 3000 schools involved in protecting the environment along various themes - Litter & Waste, Energy, Water, Travel, Biodiversity and Global Citizenship.
