Highly acclaimed actor and comedy improviser rolls up his sleeves to support young talent this March

Peter Byrne to host comedy improvisation workshop as part of young filmmakers festival, 21st – 22nd March 2014.

Peter Byrne is one of Ireland’s most creative talents as an actor, comedian, comedy improviser and a voice over artist. He is the co-founder of www.thecraicpack.com and has performed comedy improvisation for the past 12 years. He is set to host a comedy improvisation workshop at the NOISE Flicks Film Festival 2014, an initiative of South Dublin County Council’s Arts Office for young people ages 14-18 in the county.

The Comedy workshop is one of a series of exciting film –related events to be held as part of NOISE Flicks Film Festival in March 2014, which aims to provide film enthusiasts aged 14-18 with the opportunity to meet and learn from accomplished industry professionals.

Peter’s credits as an actor and comedian include, The Clinic, Fair City, Pat Shortt’s Killinaskully, Happy Ever After and Foyle’s War.

The Festival begins on Friday March 21st for the screening of the competition winners and awards ceremony, followed by a Q & A session with Niamh Guckian, a national Irish broadcaster in IMC Cinema, Tallaght. Tickets are available from IMC and are €5.

Young people, ages 14-18 who live, work or study in South Dublin County may enter their films into the Festival competition by March 4th 2014. More information about the competition can be found at www.noisedublin.ie.

On his upcoming workshop Peter said:

“Noise Flicks Film Festival is an inspiration to all young artists, giving them a much needed platform to create, perform and excel in the limitless world of the arts.”

The workshop is taking place on Saturday 22nd March from 11am -4pm at RUA RED, South Dublin Arts Centre. The price is €5 including lunch. As spaces are limited, interested individuals are advised to contact RUA RED (01-4515860) to book in advance.

About us

NOISE Flicks is a youth film festival initiative of South Dublin County Council’s Arts Office that showcases and celebrates the creative talent of young people aged 14-18 in South Dublin County. The festival provides an opportunity for young people to meet and hear from professionals in the film making industry.

The Festival began in March 2009 and has since gone from strength to strength. It is part of the NOISE South Dublin online project and networked NOISE Community of creative young people in South Dublin. NOISE Flicks is supported by RUA RED, RTÉ, Án Lár TV and IT Tallaght.

NOISE Flicks Competitions are open to individual young filmmakers (aged 14-18) living or studying in South Dublin County, as well as groups (such as schools, PLC, Third Level Colleges or youth services)
