SMILE resource exchange follow-up opportunities for Businesses in South Dublin County

Following all of the positive feedback received since the SMILE Business Event in Tallaght Stadium on April 25th, a follow up event was held Thursday 18th July in Tallaght.

Mayor of South Dublin County Cllr Dermot Looney stated “This event provided a great opportunity for local businesses to follow up on business contacts they made at the first event and to follow up on exchanges that can save their business money!”

The Mayor continued to say “This is a fantastic networking opportunity. Attendees had the opportunity to exchange ideas - introduce themselves, their business and speak about what they have received through the SMILE network or what they still require.”

Loman O’Byrne CEO South Dublin Enterprise Board stated “It is important that we build on the momentum from the first South Dublin SMILE event. The successes already achieved from that event show that following up in this way is very worthwhile and it demonstrates what local businesses can do when they work together”.

South Dublin Sustainability executive Andrea Carroll said “South Dublin Chamber is delighted to support this follow up event for those businesses involved in SMILE in South Dublin. The SMILE project goes a long way towards ensuring the sustainability of business in the County, as well as the Country”

Project Co-Ordinator of SMILE Resource Exchange Adam Shanley said "The follow up event is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to reconnect with the contacts that they made at the main event in April and to re-establish the conversations about potential synergies that can be made. We also showcased some of the exchanges that have been successful and encourage attendees to network at these events to create further opportunities."

The event included presentations from the SMILE team regarding successful exchanges arising from the event and opportunities for the future. In addition South Dublin Chamber provided information on Sustainable Business in the County. This Event is part of the implementation of South Dublin County Councils Waste Management Strategy and is organised by the Environmental Services Department and jointly funded by SDCC’s Environmental Services Department and South Dublin County Enterprise Board.
