Press Release
11.30 am to 1.00 pm
Tallaght Stadium
On Friday 31st May at 11.30 am in Tallaght Stadium, Tallaght Mayor Cathal King will close the Bealtaine Festival, the festival celebrating Creativity in Older Age. Bealtaine is co-ordinated by Age and Opportunity, the national organisation working to promote greater participation by older people in society. The name "Bealtaine" comes from the ancient Celtic festival of that name celebrating springtime, freshness and renewal. There was 81 events organised for the month and for the majority of the events we had full participation.
The competition entitled “It’s not life that makes us, it’s what we make of life†was organised by the Social Inclusion Unit and allowed residents of the County to submit their expression of thanks for the good things in their life. This was a huge success with entries from all over the county. The awards will be presented at the closing Ceremony.
