PRESS RELEASE

Launch of South Dublin Age Friendly County Strategy  8th November 2012 3.30 pm - Red Cow Inn, Clondalkin

The Age Friendly County Programme was launched in South Dublin in February and following an extensive consultation process the South Dublin Age Friendly County Strategy has been developed. The strategy contains details of the many programmes, services and activities that are on offer for older people in the County. It also contains information on some plans for the future. The implementation of the strategy will be overseen by the Age Friendly County Alliance, a group of partners chaired by the County Manager and including the HSE, An Garda Síochána, CPLN and Dodder Valley Partnerships and the South Dublin Volunteer Centre. Members of the newly established Older Person’s Forum for South Dublin County are also involved and will work to ensure that the needs of older people across the County are taken into account in all future planning. The Strategy will be officially launch by the South Dublin Age Friendly County Alliance (as part of Social Inclusion Week 2012) and followed by the Annette Halpin Tea Dance.
