A great evenings entertainment was had by all in the County Library, Tallaght on 26 February when the Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Marie Corr kicked off the festivities of Seachtain na Gaeilge which will officially begin this year on 2 March and continue on to the 17th. Rnn Snodaigh from Kla, John Spillane, N Bac and other guests were performing at this launch.
As part of her speech the Mayor said There are great performers here tonight many of whom have gained international recognition and we would like to acknowledge the privilege it is for us for them to be here on this occasion. There will be gigs, performances, classes, workshops, music sessions and a lot of craic to be had during the next two weeks of Seachtain na Gaeilge in South Dublin. There will be over 110 events which are listed in this years brochure, so, undoubtedly there will be something for everyones taste no matter what age.
