Bronnadh duaiseanna chomórtas scoile Sheachtain na Gaeilge 08 agus seoladh comórtais 09
Bhronn Leas-Mhéara Chomhairle Contae Átha Cliath Theas, Guss O’Connell, duaiseanna dhá chomórtas scoile, a seoladh le linn Sheachtain na Gaeilge 2008, Dé hAoine seo caite an 12 Nollag. Comórtas scríofa a bhí ann do dhaltaí Meánscoile agus comórtas póstaeir do dhaltaí Bunscoile, an dhá cheann faoi stair meánaoiseach an chontae/na tíre. Bhuaigh Dominic Berkeley ó Scoil Ospidéal an Rí, Baile Phámar, an chéad duais do dhaltaí Meánscoile agus bhuaigh Shane Dolan, ó Scoil Shantáin, Tamhlacht, an chéad duais do dhaltaí Bunscoile. Luach €1000 de bhogearraí nó crua-earraí don scoil a bhuaigh an bheirt acu. Chuir an Tionscnamh Nascadh, de chuid Comhairle Contae Átha Cliath Theas na duaiseanna ar fáil do na scoileanna.
Thóg an Oifig Ghaeilge deis comórtas nua Sheachtain na Gaeilge 09 a sheoladh ar an ócáid seo chomh maith. Beidh ar daltaí bunscoile nó meánscoile póstaer A4/A3 a dhéanamh ar an ábhar ‘cur chun cinn na Gaeilge i gContae Bhaile Átha Cliath Theas nó ina c(h)eantar féin ar leith.’ Caithfidh na hiontrálaithe bheith istigh roimh dheireadh mí Eanáir agus beidh bronnadh na duaiseanna ag tarlú i rith Sheachtain na Gaeilge i mí an Mhárta 09. Beidh duaiseanna iontacha le fáíl.
Ba mhaith le Comhairle Contae Átha Cliath Theas buíochas a ghabháil le gach duine ar ghlac páirt sa chomórtas seo.
Prize-giving for Seachtain na Gaeilge 08 school competition and launch of the competition for 09.
The Deputy Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Guss O’Connell, presented the prizes for two school competitions, which were launched during Seachtain na Gaeilge 2008, last Friday 12 December. It was a written competition for Secondary school pupils and a poster competition for Primary school pupils. The two were on the subject of the Medieval history of the county/country. Dominic Berkeley from King’s Hospital School, Palmerstown won the first prize for Secondary school pupils and Shane Dolan from Scoil Shantáin, Tallaght won the first prize for the Primary school pupils competition. Both won €1000 worth of software or hardware for their schools. The Connect Project of South Dublin County Council provided the prizes for the schools.
The Oifig Ghaeilge also took the opportunity at this event to launch a new competition for Seachtain na Gaeilge 09. Primary and secondary school pupils are being asked to design an A4/A3 poster on the subject of ‘the promotion of Irish in South Dublin County or in his/her own area.’ The entries must be in before the end of January and the prize giving will take place during Seachtain na Gaeilge in March 09. There will be great prizes to be won.
