Launch of NOISE website for South Dublin Countys Creative Young People ages 13 to 25

Mayor Marie Corr, members of South Dublin County Council and the Youth Arts community will celebrate the launch of NOISE South Dublin, a website dedicated to creative young people in the area from ages 13 to 25.

NOISE South Dublin (www.noisesouthdublin.com) is a site that showcases and celebrates the creative work of young people. It also serves as a central point of information on opportunities for young people to participate in creative activities, workshops, exhibitions and gigs both in and outside the County. Finally, it is the home of an active NOISE Community of members who participate in creative projects actually on the space of the website. These projects are developed by international, national, and local artists exclusively for NOISE.

The launch party will take place on the evening of Tuesday, October 28th in the Big Picture, South Dublin County Councils new interactive exhibition space, located at the last Luas stop in Tallaght. NOISE is the first event to be featured in this new, exciting facility. The Big Pictures is an interactive Exhibition Centre where visual and relevant multi-media content will be exhibited for public interaction. The first of its kind, the Big Picture aims to create a new medium of communication through the visual, creative and learning processes.

The celebration of NOISE features images, video and music by South Dublin Countys young people. The Rathfarnham Concert Band and Soundation, a digital music group in Lucan Youth Service will premiere their first ever co-created song. In addition, the winners of a Photography Competition, co-sponsored by CANON, the Evening Heralds HQ Magazine, and South Dublin County Council, will be announced. Participants had the chance to win a CANON camera and get their work published in HQ.
