In order to provide to construction space for the new Newcastle Road interchange on the N4, a temporary large and elongated roundabout will be constructed. It will come into operation on 06th June 2008. The elongated roundabout will be signal controlled and appropriate timings have been designed using the latest traffic flow data. The roundabout will remain in place until the interchange nears completion early next year.
During the construction of the interchange all movements will be available except for traffic heading into Lucan Village from Newcastle Road junction. Traffic wishing to access Lucan village should use Ballydowd Interchange (Outer Ring Road / Woodies) if coming from Dublin and the M50 or Old Celbridge Road and Leixlip Road if coming from the West (N4) and South (R120).
Existing pedestrian crossings will be available during the works. Pedestrians routes will be signed.
Please exercise care when using new or unfamiliar roads.
