CHANGE TO M50 / N7 (RED COW) INTERCHANGE TRAFFIC LAYOUT FROM SUNDAY 13TH JANUARY 2008
9th January 2008: From 8 a.m. on Sunday 13th January 2008, M50 motorists will benefit from a number of improvements at the M50/N7 (Red Cow) Interchange Layout. A map displaying the updated layout, along with further information relating to the project, can be viewed on www.m50.ie.
- N7 Eastbound to M50 Southbound and M50 Northbound traffic will have two lanes at the N7 / Monastery Lane Junction traffic signals. When approaching these traffic signals drivers should use the N7 inner lane for M50 northbound and the N7 middle lane for M50 southbound. Both lanes will be signposted.
- N7 Eastbound to City and Luas traffic will have two lanes at the N7 / Monastery Lane Junction traffic signals. When approaching these traffic lights drivers should use the N7 middle & outside lanes for the City and the outer lane only for the Luas Park & Ride. Both lanes will be signposted.
- Monastery Road to City traffic will be directed on to a new Free-flow Over-bridge Link from where they will merge with the main N7 inbound traffic. This traffic will no longer have to stop at traffic lights at Monastery Lane which will be closed for inbound traffic.
- Monastery Road to M50 Southbound and M50 Northbound traffic will also be directed on to a new permanent free-flow over-bridge link from where they will access the M50 for both northbound and southbound. The M50 northbound traffic will have to travel southbound and U-turn at the new Ballymount Junction until the new northbound free-flow sliproad currently under construction comes into operation.
South Dublin County Council advises motorists to exercise care when using the revised layout.
