The launch of every Harry Potter book is greeted with great excitement as children and adults alike dress up as wizards and witches to celebrate and get their hands on the book first.

Attention wizards-in-training: South Dublin Libraries is hosting a Harry Potter Launch Party on July 20th, 2007 at 10.30pm in Ballyroan Library and youre invited!

The event is free, and you will be able to purchase a copy Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (20) from midnight! The festivities begin at 10.30 pm at Ballyroan Library, Orchardstown Avenue, Rathfarnham Dublin 14, but space is limited - so please ring Ballyroan Library at 4941900 or email them at Ballyroan@sdublincoco.ie and make sure you get a place!

Schedule of Events:

Hagrid & Bumbledor (Dumbledors clumsy brother!) will entertain you with their antics

Jack Flash: See feats that defy gravity.  Children and Grown ups alike will be amazed with this funny juggling act.  He has toured Ireland and America including a performance at the White House.

 

Gronk: A children's magician with loads of energy.  A hilarious act who uses volunteers, balloons and loads of mirth.

 

Face Painting with Jenny Scott

Actor Joe McKinney as Dumbledore will read the last chapter of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and at 12.01am, when the boxes of books can be officially opened, he will read the first chapter of the very last Harry Potter! So you will be the first in Ireland to hear whats next!

Costume Contest
Well be on the look-out for the scariest, craziest or most creative costume the whole night. So youd better put some thought into it. There are prizes to be won! (Even the staff will be dressed up!) If you dont want to dress up, you can come along in your pyjamas!
