Mayor Eamon Maloney will officially launch an exhibition by Nina Maguire, 1000 Blues, at County Hall, Tallaght on 10th May at 7pm. The exhibition is to run until 18th May 2007.

Nina is a self taught artist inspired by early 20th century Irish Artists and in particular, the Yeats Family. Using colours and shades, similar to those used, particularly by Jack B. Yeats, Nina explores the concept of the spirit of a person through facial imagery.

A local lady, Nina is from Tallaght and decided, with the help of her family, to return to education through BEST, a local adult education service. She successfully completed the leaving certificate art course, and subsequently gained entry to Ballyfermot College of Art and Design to undertake an NCVA Graphic Design programme and was awarded a Higher Diploma in Art in 2005. This is her first solo exhibition and we are delighted that she has chosen South Dublin County Council as the venue.
