SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL

NEW PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS

The Planning & Development Regulations 2006 (S.I. 685 of 2006), insofar as they relate to the processing of planning applications under the Planning Acts 2000 to 2006, come into effect on March 31st, 2007. Copies of these Regulations are available from Government Publications and www.environ.ie, the website of the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government. From March 31st, 2007, all applications for permission under these Acts will have to comply with the requirements of these Regulations.

For the first time, a Statutory Planning Application Form will now need to accompany each planning application and all mandatory relevant questions in this form must be answered in relation to a particular application. Supplementary information is also requested on the form and should be provided, where relevant, to facilitate consideration of the application.

The new form is now available on the Councils website www.sdcc.ie and at County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24. Other revised documents relating to making planning applications are also available, including Site Notice template and sample Newspaper Notice. Prospective applicants and agents are urged to familiarise themselves with these documents. The Council is anxious to minimise the level of Invalid Applications.

Any queries should be directed to the Councils Planning Registry Section at (01) 414 9230 or via e-mail to planning.dept@sdublincoco.ie.
