On Wednesday 21st March Mayor Eamonn Maloney will launch the Social Inclusion Unit, Community Services Department, South Dublin County Council Logo Booklet Participation and Integration.
The booklet is being launch to coincide with European Week against Racism and March 21st is the International Day for the Elimination of all forms of racism.
Social Inclusion is a series of positive actions to ensure everyone has an equal chance to take up different services. It supports all people to participate in their local community and environment and it is about being aware of and challenging forms of discrimination.
The idea behind the competition was to raise awareness and enhance understanding of some of the issues around poverty and inequality in our society. It was to give everybody the opportunity to develop their leaning experience through working on an artistic symbolic interpretation of the concept of social inclusion. It was to be considered under the themes of equality, quality of life for all and access to opportunity.
This booklet is reflective of the concept behind Social Inclusion and demonstrates an awareness of exactly what Social Inclusion means to each and all. This booklet is an acknowledgement of the hard work and effort of those who took on the challenge of interpreting Social Inclusion.
