South Dublin County Council Refuse Disposal Services and Junk Collections 2007

The Councils Civic Amenity and Recycling Centre is available to all householders who wish to dispose of bulky waste items. This is an excellent facility with weekend opening hours at a reasonable cost to the user. The facility is at Ballymount and can be contacted at Tel. 4621251, Full details are available on www.southdublin.ie

In addition the Council provides a programmed Junk Collection service to householders. This service is provided on a five-yearly rotation basis (two-yearly rotation applying to households in designated RAPID areas) SDCC is one of very few Local Authorities who provides such a service.

In 2006, over 24,500 houses received this service producing 1,713 tonnes of bulky waste for disposal (one- third of which was recycled).

This service is currently provided free of charge to householders, and the provision in the 2007 budget has been continued at similar levels as 2006.

Residents who wish to have their estate listed for consideration on the Junk Collection Programme, should contact the Council through the Customer Care system by emailing cccounter@sdublincoco.ie
