Beautiful South Dublin County Awards

Mayor Eamonn Maloney on behalf of the Members of South Dublin County Council and the County Manager Joe Horan presented the awards in the Beautiful South Dublin County Awards / tha Cliath Theas go Deas competition on Thursday 16^th November in the Green Isle Hotel.

The overall winner of the Beautiful South Dublin County Awards 2006 was Castle Park/Castle Lawns Estate, Tallaght.

I congratulate you all not only are you making a difference to the place where you live, you are creating a sense of community and place that makes a difference and creates a sense of belonging. The difference this competition makes is plain to see - A County that is free from litter, has an improved natural and built environment and greater community involvement resulting in a better place to be said Mayor Eamonn Maloney in his speech.

There were over a hundred entries from resident groups, businesses, youth groups and individuals throughout the County.

The competition had three new sections this year - Best Waste Management Initiative, Local Green Hero, Best Apartments.
