EUROPEAN WEEK AGAINST RACISM

ART/SHORT STORIES COMPETITION

PRESENTATION OF PRIZES

COUNCIL CHAMBER, TALLAGHT

Wednesday 10 May 2017

On Wednesday 10 May at 3.00 pm in the Council Chamber, Tallaght, Mayor Guss O’Connell will present the winners of the European Week against Racism Competition their prizes.

The idea behind this competition was to ask children, young people and adults living here in South Dublin County to convey their own personal message against racism. There were over 100 entries for the competition.

One of the main objectives of the Council is to facilitate initiatives to promote integration in the county. A willingness to learn about different cultures and to communicate with others is the key to a successful, fair and open society. The number of entries we receive from the competition shows that people living in South Dublin believe that there is no place for Racism here.

Here in South Dublin County we want to continue developing an inclusive county where everybody has the opportunity to participate and realise their true potential.
