Closing Ceremony for Bealtaine Festival
Friday 29th May 2015
Red Cow Inn, Clondalkin
On Friday 29th May at 3.00 pm in Red Cow Inn, Clondalkin Mayor Fintan Warfield will close the Bealtaine Festival, the festival celebrating Creativity in Older Age. Bealtaine is co-ordinated by Age and Opportunity, the national organisation working to promote greater participation by older people in society. The name "Bealtaine" comes from the ancient Celtic festival of that name celebrating springtime, freshness and renewal. There was 100 events organised for the month and for the majority of the events we had full participation. The festival promotes social/community networking and stimulation of older people to participate in events. It is a major opportunity for enjoyment and celebration of the creativity in older people as they age.
The winners in the Bealtaine Competition will be presented at the closing Ceremony with their awards by Mayor Fintan Warfield. This will be followed by light refreshments and a Tea Dance.
