South Dublin County Council wins the Most Innovative Authority category at the LAMA Awards 2015
The LAMA Community and Council Awards 2015 in association with IPB Insurance took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Northwood Dublin on Saturday 24th January. The awards provide a great opportunity to highlight and celebrate the work done within communities in partnership with local authorities. South Dublin County Council is delighted to announce that on this occasion we scooped the award for the Most Innovative Authority for the County Development Plan and Consultation Process.
In accepting the award the Mayor of South Dublin County, Cllr. Fintan Warfield commented;
“I am delighted that this innovative project has been recognised with this prestigious award. South Dublin County Council is continually pushing boundaries and identifying new ways to engage with all of our citizens in this very important process. I would particularly like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the County Development Plan project team”
The aim of the County Development Plan Consultation strategy was to communicate the public consultation programme to as many people as possible in South Dublin County and to make it accessible through a variety of media.
As part of the Six Step Consultation Approach and to maximise the catchment and exposure of the County Development Plan process, South Dublin County Council developed an innovative strategy which included range of design features, such as:
- Dedicated website – www.southdublindevplan.ie
- Online Submission function
- County Development Plan 2016 – 2022 logo
- Promotional Videos
- Innovative Promotion and Advertising Campaign
- Publishing of technical and non-technical documents online
