 Unwrapped 2014 A Free outdoor spectacle based on the story of ‘Good King Wenceslas’ to mark the beginning of the festive season and to celebrate the lighting of the Christmas Tree in Tallaght

 

Saturday 6th December 2014 at 4:30pm

County Library, Tallaght and Chamber Square.

 

The Event:

  • Youth, school and community arts, performance and music groups will bring to life the story of Good King Wenceslas.

 

  • UNWRAPPED is an annual winter celebration. Children, youngpeople, and communities of all ages join professional artists to“unwrap” the festive winter season through a combination ofmusic, performance and visual arts.

 

  • For UNWRAPPED 2014, over200 children, young people and adults from South Dublin County’syouth, school, disability and community arts, performance andmusic groups will bring the song “Good King Wenceslas” to lifethrough dance, colourful lanterns and costumes.

 

  • Now in its’ 5th year, Unwrapped is a perfect family-friendly start to the festive season.

 

 

The Groups Involved:

Over 200 people are involved in the creation, staging and promotion of Unwrapped 2014.

The annual UNWRAPPED programme is developed by a creative partnership between South Dublin County Council Arts Office and Corporate Services Department; South Dublin Libraries; Tallaght Community Arts; Alternative Entertainment; Contact Studio; Civic Theatre, Tallaght; RUA RED, South Dublin Arts Centre, South Dublin County Music Education Partnership and Down to Earth Theatre Company.

 

UNWRAPPED 2014 has been generously supported by The

Square Shopping Centre and Monastery Music Clondalkin.
