The competition focuses on people coming together to shape, change and enjoy all that is good about their area. The competition in 2012 is run by Cooperation Ireland and co funded in association with Irish Public Bodies.

“Pride of Place recognises what’s good in communities. I am delighted to welcome the judges to South Dublin County – they will see some excellent places and projects. South Dublin has done well in this competition previously with Killinarden Community winning their category and Fettercairn Community coming runner up. I wish all the entries the very best of luck. They increase our pride in our County” said Mayor Cathal King
