Presentation Ceremony -15th November 2011

Press Release 8th Nov 2011

The sixth annual presentation ceremony of ‘Beautiful South Dublin County’ Competition takes place in County Hall, Tallaght on Tuesday 15th November in the Council Chamber.

The Beautiful South Dublin County Competition honours and acknowledges many community groups, businesses and residents associations who take pride in their local environment and work together to improve their area. The competition gives South Dublin County Council an opportunity to publicly thank and acknowledge the great effort put in by communities in striving to improve their local areas.

Mayor Caitriona Jones said “I am looking forward to presenting the Beautiful South Dublin County Awards. We are all aware of the special places throughout the County – places where there is no litter, the planting always looks well and you get a sense that somebody cares – residential areas, villages, schools and businesses. That is the essence of Beautiful South Dublin and what its about  - acknowledging these people who take responsibility and have pride in their place.”

This year a large number of entries were received for the Beautiful South Dublin County Competition, covering 16 categories representing residential, business, and community initiatives.
