The Creative Village is South Dublin County Council’s Pop-Up Shop Project which makes use of empty commercial property in Tallaght Town Centre. The Council wishes to reinvigorate and animate the area adjacent to the Luas Line at the entrance of the Town Centre.
We are now looking for individual or collective, craftworkers, artists, designers and other creative’s who want to exhibit, sell or showcase their creations. South Dublin County Council are offering free spaces for periods of 4 months with a possible extra 2 months. Projects should showcase people making and presenting original and creative things. Tenants should demonstrate in their application how they encourage local buy in to the project.
This project is part of South Dublin County Council’s Creative Enterprise Strategy. It will provide an opportunity to create, exhibit, promote and sell services and as a result will:
- Increase footfall in the area
- Create a sense of vibrancy and excitement in the town centre
- Increase support for creative industries operating in South Dublin.
- Offer spaces for local creative business entrepreneurs to try out new ideas and attract new audiences
We are now accepting applications forms which are available on the South Dublin County Council website www.sdcc.ie. The Council hope to have the first tenants by the beginning of October.
