RTE Dragon Sean Gallagher joins “South Dublin Dragons” for Innovation Dublin 2010
South Dublin Dragons organised by South Dublin County Council and Comhairle na nÓg will take place on Wednesday 17th November 10:30am to 12:30pm in South Dublin County Council Chambers – this event has been organised as part of Innovation Dublin 10th-21st November 2010.
The event organised by South Dublin County Council and Comhairle na nÓg allows young people to pitch an idea to South Dublin County Council in an innovative and creative way, in turn allowing South Dublin County Council consult with young people living in our County. The participants are requested to come up with realistic, innovative ideas to improve life in their County. Each group or individual will be given up to ten minutes to impress the Dragons After their presentation the Dragons are allowed ask questions about the idea put forward. When all pitches have been presented our Dragons will choose an overall winner based on most innovative idea that is well researched and presented.. . Ideas such as Environmental projects, Educational, Science, Community Projects, Young Persons Facilities, or any other areas that you may be of interest to the Brave young entrepreneurs and will make South Dublin County a better place for young people will be pitched at this event….
This year we are delighted to announce that our guest Dragons to join County Manager Joe Horan in the Chamber will be Sean Gallagher, Entrepreneur, RTE Dragons Den, Sherrie Brennan, Director Skip Trans and Chair of Chambers of and Brian Corrigan Director of Regulatory Affairs, Pfizer.
Prizes will be presented to the school and individuals with the most innovative idea.
South Dublin County Council will take note of all ideas and if financially viable and possible will support and advise the young people to make their dream a reality.
Innovation Week 2010 challenges all of us to think outside the box, to be innovative in every area of our lives and to take risks.
The event was organised by South Dublin County Council through Comhairle na nÓg. Comhairli na nÓg are local youth councils, which give children and young people the opportunity to be involved in the development of local services and policies. It provides the youth of South Dublin County with an opportunity to identify and discuss matters which affect their daily lives, and is a place for young people to pass on their views and concerns to decision-makers at both local and national government.
