Chamber’s Ireland Award for South Dublin County Sports Partnership

South Dublin County Sports Partnership (SDCSP) had a very successful night recently in the two awards for which it was shortlisted, both for the same programme – Link 2B Active – which targets those who are economically disadvantaged (unemployed/ on disability benefit/ lone parents etc.) to try and ensure that they can participate in health-enhancing physical activity in local facilities, regardless of income levels. For further information check out the website - www.sdcsp.ie

In the Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Government Awards, SDCSP won the Supporting Active Communities category and in the Irish Healthcare Awards, SDCSP received a commendation in the Best Public Healthcare Initiative category.

Link 2B Active has now been replicated in other counties around the country and the Irish Sports Council plans to roll it out nationwide in 2011.
