The Clondalkin, Lucan and Tallaght Leisure Centres, managed by SCDLS on behalf of South Dublin County Council, have achieved The White Flag Award for 2011.
The Institute of Leisure and Amenity Management (ILAM) has announced that 89 leisure facilities and spas from across Ireland have received the 2011 White Flag Award.
The White Flag Award is designed to provide a quality standard for swimming pools, sports halls, fitness studios, health suites, spas and gyms. The Award is an independently audited quality award, recognised throughout the leisure industry, endorsed by Fáilte Ireland and the Irish Hotels Federation and supported by Aviva Insurance
This year’s White Flag Awards, which celebrated their tenth anniversary, were presented at a gala dinner hosted by RTE’s Michael Lyster in Lynch’s Breaffy House Hotel near Castlebar in Co. Mayo on Thursday, 14th October.
Key criteria graded include:
- Building interior
- Building exterior and grounds
- Staff qualifications
- Staff training plans
- Cleanliness and hygiene
- Operations management
- Environmental management
- Health and safety procedures
- Adherence to industry codes of practice
- Pool water quality
- Quality checks and records
In addition Clondalkin Leisure Centre achieved a Silver Award in the Disability Provision Category presented by ILAM in partnership with The Irish Wheelchair Association and Cerebral Palsy Ireland.
