Poverty and Social Exclusion Awareness Week
Monday 18th October 2010 to 22nd October 2010
2010 is the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion. The campaign aims to highlight the importance of a collective responsibility in eradicating poverty and also to give a voice to those who daily experience poverty and social exclusion.
The Social Inclusion Unit, Community Services Department, South Dublin County Council has organized a number of events to highlight this week including the following:
Wednesday 20th October 2010: Practical Solutions for Local Authorities to respond to Literacy Needs ½ Day Seminar – Café Style Discussion on this topic
Time: 9.30am - 1pm
Venue: The Wood Quay Venue, Dublin City Council
Tuesday 19th October 2010: Cookery Demonstration: How to cook a meal for a family of four on a budget?
Venue: St. Peter the Apostle National School Clondalkin
Time: 10.00 am to 11.00 am
Friday 22nd October 2010: Cookery Demonstration: How to cook a meal for a family of four on a budget?
Venue: Cumas Office, Neilstown Shopping Centre, Clondalkin
Time: 10.00 am to 11.00 pm
Venue: Deansrath Community Centre, Clondalkin, Dublin 22.
Time: 11.30 am to 12.30 pm
Classes are free and copies of all recipes will be provided
