Press Release Issued: 5th October 2010

BOX STORIES is a project inviting people, from all ages, genders, cultures and backgrounds from South County Dublin to participate in the creative exploration of self expression and, ultimately, to celebrate the diversity of the South Dublin community.

BOX STORIES encourages participating groups around South County Dublin to ‘get up on their box’ and express what it is they want to say to the world and share this with others in their community, using the soapbox as a mode of communication.

Who are we? Where are we? What do we want to say?

Have you something you want to say to the world and share with the rest of your community?

Groups then use their soapbox to respond to the questions by decorating it, painting it, putting sound or a film in it or creating a performance to take place around the box.

Images of some of the boxes can be seen at www.tallaght-arts.ie/news

This launch event also features as part Open House Dublin, presented by the Irish Architecture Foundation, is a free event which takes place every year and allows everyone to explore the architecture of Dublin, as buildings across the city open their doors to the public.
